All of the dogs that put us into the Hall of Fame live here in the neighborhood.  They are members of a family first....competition is a bonus.  We all love to have fun with our dogs.  Susan and Russ Paluszcyk live with Fannie Mae, Eric and Travis and our flock of sheep.  Penny Pape and Randy Faulkner live with Beau, Bell, Jimmy, Bailey, Bling Bling and Lucy, the token non Aussie.  Carol, Molly and Jana Sutton live with Vader, Gee, Bob and Skids.  Randall and Kathy live with Licorice, Riot, Moon, Mick Bash, Cooper, Blitz, Dee Dee and Brick.

RedRock Aussies - 2002 Nationals

The goal we have for our dogs is to have a wonderful home where they are loved and accepted as a member of the family. I am fortunate to live in what I consider the best neighborhood in the world.  Four of us from the RedRock are here with our dogs, one sent her dog and stayed home to keep an eye on those we left behind this trip. We have regular sessions of stock work, agility , obedience, and just plain ole fun with our dogs.  There are many neighborhood BBQ's, fire pit parties, trail rides, and hikes in the beautiful forest that surrounds us.

RedRock Aussies - 2003 Nationals

Wow, it is hard to believe another Nationals is upon us. The past year has been very prosperous for 'Team RedRock' Fannie Mae has picked up two MVA awards, a silver platter from the ASC of AZ Silver Specialty and a belt buckle from the 2003 LOBO ASA Three Pines Ranch Classic. We decided to venture into the conformation ring with her 'housemate', Eric who very quickly finished his championship in style with a BOS win over specials.

Mr. Beau went RWD at the 2002 ASCA Nationals .... what fun that was!  Beau finished his championship shortly after Nationals.  He has since been busy earning his JS-N and a leg each in started cattle and ducks.  Not to be outdone by her big brother Miss Skeeter went out and quickly finished her championship, she is busy working on her agility and stock work and does have a leg of started ducks.  Baby Belle is coming of age, she has done well in the breed ring, her latest accomplishment being a RWB win at a huge show in New Mexico .... then she blew all of her coat for Nationals!

Bash wowed us all with his three premiers at the National Pre Shows .... which prompted me to come home and breed him to my dear Licorice for her second and last litter.

Cooper .... RedRocks Behind Blue Eyes our newest addition to the household and trust me it is a very busy addition. Coop is the image of her grandma Snowy and is already showing promise on stock and in agility.

Moondog .... well he is still my dream, Keely's dream and never ceases to surprise me with his talent. To date 40 BOB and 20 BOS. Since last Nationals where he qualified in MVA (as a two year old) and picked up a premier at a preshow he has finished his AKC championship, his CD (with no training) and qualified for MVA at the Silver Specialty, acquiring his started sheep and duck titles along the way; his Novice Standard and Jumpers agility titles, and perhaps our biggest achievement and best therapy for me was to certify Moon as a Delta Society Therapy Dog. Moon is a celeb at the local hospital which we visit every Thursday afternoon. Oh yew, I almost forgot Moon got his started cattle title at the Three Pines Classic in New Mexico (along with a leg of open sheep).

On that note, I cannot express enough thanks to Mr. Joe Escobar who has spent countless hours with us trying to get the 'stock theory' through to us. His companion Fran Evans who spent most of her summer up here in Prescott. Diana Kruglick (and the Belgian Sheepdog crew) for their support and the cows! Our neighbors, who have put up with sheep, cows and ducks all over the neighborhood ... along with cooking for us (early in the afternoon so we could work stock in the evening).

The Russ/Snowy cross has not only produced the bulk of these wonderful dogs but it has brought the 'grandmas' much closer together. Diana Curl took a position at the local hospital and has purchased a home in Chino Valley. We are slowly pulling her into the world of stock and agility although her main love will always be the conformation ring. She has some talented young dogs who will not let her ignore the 'toys' in the neighborhood.

Countless hours of work with these dogs in all venues along with building their toys .... A big thank you to our local retiree, Russ Paluszcyk who is our main gopher and builder. A big thanks to Carol Pielstick for all of the sitting she does for those who stay at home. I would not take her dogs away for three weeks (you can bet Vader and Bob will be at Nationals next year) and this year she has quite a bit of livestock to keep an eye on as well.

A word about my pet puppy people .... Susan Paluszcyk and Penny Pape ..... HA! You thought you were getting a pretty pet. A big thank you to the care and love you give these guys and the time you spend training and traveling to shows. I must say that I had a dropped jaw when it was first mentioned about 'going to Nationals next year' never in my wildest dreams would I ask you all to make this kind of trip .... I guess the story is true .... you get an aussie, then you get the agility equipment, then the sheep, the ducks, and the cows ...... it is an addiction ...... Thank you all !

Our Venture into the World of Working Stock

It all started on day when my curiosity got me to take Moon to Karen Clymers lovely round pen to see how he liked the sheep. I was amazed with his natural ability and balance. I signed on to a three day Kathy Warren clinic at Audrey Wartmans place down in Queen Creek. By then we had the bug. I hurried my application into Kathy Warren's 102 camp for the end of June. In the mean time Moon caught the eye of Joe Escobar, Joe has spent countless hours with us getting us ready for camp. Camp was a blast (and another whole story itself .... Thanks! Marilee)! It was the week before a conformation show and working trial so we stayed on for the fun. I entered Moon in novice sheep and we survived !!! Back home to a determined Joe .... He was going to have us ready for Nationals. I can't tell you how many trips up to Prescott Joe made to try and get the working theory through my head. He has been very patient with both Susan Paluszcyk (with her Fannie Mae) and myself as he readied us for this trial. As we got closer he set up work clinics at different locations ..... Susan drove us down to Phoenix at the crack of dawn ... no still dark .... to work at June Huddleston's and Linda Bruzda's place and then a week later to work at Audrey's. The little dogs can go all day! Moon is ready for this next new adventure and I will do my best to be supportive! Thanks to all who have helped us along the way!
